Solid State Disks Capacity Steps into Useful
December 10, 2007
Just read on Engadget this morning that Toshiba has announced their new 128gb SATA interface solid state drives. With no moving parts these drives offer no noise, less/no failures and consume far less power. Considering my hard drive right now is only 100gb, the capacity of these devices is finally getting into the useful stage of their creation, the only thing that won’t be quite there yet is their price tag. We’ll have to see what the solid state manufacturers come out with in May and then look to consumerism to drop the prices to somewhere near memory cards are today.
